TAYUGA
Fattah and Mohamed, the cofounders of AZA, are both multi instrumentalists, vocalists and songwriters inspired by the many styles of North African music. Together, they had the idea of bringing a new, earthy acoustic sound to the world. After two years of composing and arranging, their vision of this music has come full-circle and is heard here on Tayuga.
"Tayuga" is a word in the Tamazight (Berber) language of the North African indigenous people that has two meanings — plowing or working the land, and also, a pair or a duo.
TAMGHRA WUSHEN
With dense melodic imagery, a deep-rooted traditional focus, and an embracing all-inclusive approach to the arrangements, AZA has created a masterful work in their second album, TAMGHRA WUSHEN... a rich and seasoned expression of the traditional music of the Amazigh people of Morocco.
